Mission Statement

Pikes Peak Respite Services is a human service agency providing respite services, family advocacy, community accessibility, homemaker, and mentorship services. We are an experienced service driven team dedicated to providing safe, quality, and worry free care for your loved ones.

What is Pikes Peak Respite Services?

Welcome to Pikes Peak Respite Services!

Thank you for the opportunity to introduce Pikes Peak Respite Services (PPRS)!

PPRS was founded in response to a growing need in our community for support for individuals with disabilities and their caregivers. Respite care provides essential breaks for primary caregivers of individuals with developmental disabilities or medical conditions that require intensive daily caregiving.

At PPRS, we prioritize the safety and well-being of those in our care. Our caregivers undergo fingerprint background checks with CBI and FBI, CPR/First Aid certification, and intense training within the first 90 days of employment. Our team is compassionate, dedicated, and driven by a deep desire to support individuals with varying needs. As a result, our staff turnover is exceptionally low.

Our Story

Pikes Peak Respite Services began in 2004 when I responded to an ad at UCCS to work with a teenage girl diagnosed with Down Syndrome and Autism—an incredibly challenging combination. My role was to provide care, integrate her into the community, and give her parents a well-deserved break. That summer was truly transformative, and one client soon turned into ten. The demand for quality respite care in Colorado Springs became clear, and I began offering full-time caregiving from my home, eventually hiring additional staff to meet the expanding client load. Over the years, our client base has steadily grown, and we’ve built a strong reputation for providing exceptional care.

Our Growth and Future

PPRS is proud of its growth and the impact we've made in the community. Today, we provide a wide range of services beyond traditional respite care, including:

  • Respite Services: Providing temporary relief for caregivers of individuals with disabilities or medical conditions that require ongoing care.

  • High Fidelity Wraparound

  • Host Home Services

  • Homemaker Services

  • Community Connector & Supported Community Connector

  • Mentorship Services

  • Supported Employment Services

We currently contract with organizations such as The Resource Exchange, Colorado Respite Coalition, School District 49, Easter Seals, Department of Human Services, Family Support Services, and Tricare. Additionally, we accept private insurance and private pay.

Our services are available in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Custer, Denver, Douglas, El Paso, Elbert, Fremont, Jefferson, Larimer, Lincoln, Morgan, Park, Pueblo, Teller, Weld, and Logan counties, with plans for future expansions.

A Passion for Caregiving

As a mother of a son diagnosed with autism in 2003, I became a passionate advocate for my son and an expert in autism. This experience has taught me how to turn challenges into valuable learning opportunities. I am dedicated to educating parents and providing quality services to help families avoid caregiving burnout, divorce, isolation, and depression.

Looking Ahead

We are excited for the future of Pikes Peak Respite Services! With the increasing demand for quality caregiving services, we are launching a marketing program to introduce our services to more families through schools, doctors, and community centers. Most of our current clients come to us through word of mouth, and we anticipate continued growth as we work to meet the rising need for specialized care.

Thank you for trusting Pikes Peak Respite Services. We go above and beyond to provide the highest standards of caregiving for individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and anyone needing extra support.
